This week I focused my attention on how much the social team at the Animation Studio uses special days (national coffee day, national dog day, world princess week) as well as Disney nostalgia to engage their followers. Whether simply posting an old drawing, original cels or video, they engage the audience, while also reintroducing old content as if it was new. I can only imagine the archive of content the Disney Company has to match just about any national holiday – real or made up! I also noticed how most of the posts reference the hashtag #100yearsofdisneyanimation. This is the year they are commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company and these social posts are a great way to provide synergy across the company wherever fans engage with the brand.
