The biggest thing that these two articles have in common is the idea of self-expression. In My Son, the Prince of Fashion (MSTPOF for short from now on), the person the article primarily focused on, Abe, had trouble expressing himself and his interests. Mind you, he didn’t suppress his interests but he was still very self-conscious about it. But once he went to some fashion shows in Paris, France, he began to have confidence in himself and his choice of clothing. Bad Feminist was about how the author is, according to societal norms, not the best feminist out there. As such, she had trouble expressing herself as a feminist. Well that’s what I got out of it anyway. But to me, by the end, she was true to herself and her identity as a feminist.
